Does dark hair make a woman look older?

I have naturally dark brown hair that I've colored red for the past few years. I'm tired of the upkeep on red hair! If I went dark again, would it show my age too much? I'm mid-40s. Should I keep it light instead, or is dark all right as I plummet into my middle age years?

No, dark would look fine!! If you pick a natural looking dark brown color to complement your skin tone, you could even end up looking younger and fresher.

i think if you are in your mid 40's then shouldnt have to dye your hair unless you can see grey oh excuse me silver.

red dye usually washes out the quickest so try something like light brown or blonde

if you dont like it just go back to your nautrual color

I think that brown hair would be better, actually. (but remember to dye it brown so that when it grows back your natural color, it will blend in and you wont have red hair with a brown stripe) The thing is, no offence, but I think that dying your hair red would age you more, but in a different way. because if its a bright red, people will know that you dye your hair and then they'll think "oh, she must be going grey" Besides, brown is more natural. Lots f people who have dark hair look much younger than they are.

You never know- at this stage you could be gray! Then you will have the choice to make to go natural or cover it up.

go back natural you can add bangs for a soft look or have it layered around your face it will look nice
