Dying Hair Blonde - Home Kit or Salon?

I currently have a light brown/slight red hair. It is dyed this color and I want to go a really light ash blonde (ash to help neutralize the red tones). Would my best bet be to go to the salon or use a home kit?

Also, will going blonde tend to pull the red tones? If I use an ash color will that minimize the red as much as possible?

Go to a salon.

If you do your own blonde, you could fry and permently damage your hair.

My hair color changes 5-6 itmes a year.

BUT

When I'm ready to be blonde for the summer I ALWAYS go to a pro.

I'm usually in the red, copper, brown family in the winter.

When it's time to start bonde, usually march.

I start slowly.

And the red and other colors from the past come up and I get some great highlights and lowlights in the process.

Yes, ash will minimize the red tones. But I highly suggest going to a salon if you never dyed your own hair before. If you have, and liked the outcome, why not try it again? If it doesn't work out you'll end up at the salon anyways. Why not try it yourself?

NEVER EVER you ash its just a gray and you wont get the color your wanting i would use natural blonde or a a level 3 or 4 you have to think of it in trims of dyeing easter eggs if you red in your hair now your not going to want to put a blonde in your hair that uses green your going to need a blue

With that much red in your hair, dont even try..youll end up at the salon getting it fixed, and thats color correction which means bigger bucks..Just from what your saying, doing it your self will end in disaster....Ive done hair in your description and it takes a skilled person doing it....Tricky with that much red...
