I bought some Clairol bleaching stuff and did it and the only thing it bleached was my roots!! So now I have bleach blonde roots and dark brown/red hair!!!! HELP! I can't afford to go to a stylist. There are hair strippers that you can get like at sally beauty supply and they can work great as well. You will just have to condition your hair alot after using one of those. Good luck

DO NOT put anymore bleach on your hair. It is too damaging unless it is being used by a professional. Start calling salons and shopping for prices or check out a local cosmetology school. They can usually help for VERY low prices. Your only other option is to stay dark.

If your hair is slow growing, and yours sounds like it is, it could take more than a year. What I suggest is that you go see a professional. She/he can show you some hair color samples and you can pick one that is closest to what you remember the color of you hair to be. That way, it won't be so noticeable when it does grow out.
Keep in mind however, that you hair color may have changed by now (especially if you are young). My daughter died her blonde hair and by the time it finally grew out - it was a beautiful rich brown!

Instead of bleaching again (which is SO damaging to your hair) I would buy a very light blonde hair-dye kit at the store. Loreal Preference works pretty well, but it's nicer to your hair to use Herbal Essences. Most blonde hair dyes have some amount of bleach in them, so that should bring your hair closer to it's natural color. However, don't expect a miracle. It might come close to your natural color, or it might turn orange... it's kinda hard to tell. Also, all of this dyeing is really damaging to your hair... make sure you use a good conditioner every day to counter-act the damage.
Truly, your best bet is to cut your hair short and start again.

If used a permanent color, I would recommend Colorfix because it's very gentle and it can be used a second time right away if the desired level is not achieved with the first application. If your hair isn't thick nor longer than chin length you may be able to use 1/2 of it, mix it in a bowl so you can save the rest for a second application if necessary. It would be great if you can get a friend to help you apply it though because it must be done fast as the mixture loses effect after 20 minutes.
Your hair is not going to return to natural color but you can recolor it right away. It's very important that once you complete the removal process the shade on your length is at the same level (or very close) to the bleached roots. Recolor with a violet based medium blond (usually described as "natural" or "beige"); if the length turned out a little darker than the roots than choose a dark blond or even a light brown. You'll be better off with a semi or demi-permanent formula to minimize damage to your hair. Whatever you choose, develop only long enough to achieve the desired color: about 5 minutes for permanent and maybe a little longer for semi/demi; since your hair is now of higher porosity leaving on full time would darken it to an undesired level.
Be sure to finish by using a rich conditioner and about 10 days later use a "hair mask" to help replenish moisture and protein lost during this process.
