Math Hair Color?

A man and a woman were the only two people walking along a beach. "I'm a man", said the one with black hair. "I'm a woman", said the one with red hair. At least on of them was lying. What was the color of the woman's hair?

1) Only the man is lying

2) Only the woman is lying

3) Both the man %26amp; woman is lying

Number 1) cannot be correct.

Because =%26gt; Man would have to have red hair

=%26gt; Woman can't have red hair

=%26gt; Only the man can't be lying

Number 2) cannot be correct

Because =%26gt; Woman would have to have black hair

=%26gt; Man can't have black hair

=%26gt; Only the woman can't be lying

Number 3) is only the correct choice

And so =%26gt; Both are lying

And then =%26gt; Man has red hair

And =%26gt; Woman has black hair

That was fun!!... now I'm late for work!!!

there were two sentences... one of the two was false...

1. I'm a man. If this sentence was false... then this person is a woman... then the woman has black hair.

2. I'm a woman. If this sentence was fasle... then this person is a man. You know that there is one one male and one female. Thus the other person is the woman. The woman does not have a red hair. The woman has a black hair.

Clearly, both of them are lying.

well if it is already established one is male and one is female that means they must both be lyingotherwise they'd be two men or two women, so the women would have to have black hair, logically.
