How can I get my daughter's hair back to its original color? PLEASE HELP!?

My 14-year-old daughter did a very stupid thing and dyed her beautiful, unique red hair this horrid dark brown (without my permission). I want her hair back to its original color like NOW. is there a way to get the hair dye out of her hair and restore back to its original color? she said she used "Loreal." I've never in my life dyed my hair (for real) so I know very little about hair dyes and how they work, so please bear with me! i'm just heartbroken and sick about this... I want her hair back to the way it was before!!!!!

OMG - I have so been there - I have a 14 year old, too.

We went to a salon. THat's the best bet. Color correction is best left to a professional.

My daughter did the same thing - except she wanted to make her dark blonde hair lighter and ended up with orange!

They were able to fix it - but it wasn't cheap! She had to do lots of chore to help pay for the damages!

You know what tho? The good news is that she won't do it again! ....have a great day! Report It

If you try to lighten her hair now, you'll ruin her hair. Lightening hair dries it out and makes it brittle. Lightening hair immediately after a dye job only excelerates the problem.

Take her to a professional hairdresser. The hairdresser may be able to place highlights in her hair so it's not so "brown" until the color can grow out.

Go to your hair dresser, because someone on the site might have no idea what they are doing, and that would just ruin your daughters hair more. %26lt;3

First of all discuss this with your daughter remember its her hair and it will eventually grow out. If you would still like to immediately change it back, its best to bring her to the hair salon and have an expert do it. Its easy to make a mistake. It would be help to have a picture of your daughter before her hair color change so the person dying the hair back knows which shade it is. I don't think there is a way to get all the dye out but if there is I'm sure someone on this site will tell you.

No it won't go back it might fade back but probably not if she died it brown just dye it red and get it professionally done and make sure you tell them natural cause you don't want blood red.

Perfect question for me to answer because I had beautiful blonde hair and my mother dyed it this really ugly color that looks purple! I demanded her to turn it back and she said we were going to try so we went to the nearest "SALLY'S" in town! They have a hair lotion that strips the color out! Just go in the store and ask if they have color stripper to get hair dye out! If you don't want to do that it's time to head to the Beauty Salon!

There is a color remover called "color oops" you can get at CVS or Walgreens---you could try it, it is not supposed to damage the hair. But, if she wants to try this new color, let her learn the hard way---as I did!!! It will grow out!!
