I would have to say it looks great, as does blue, but some people may find it to be "punk,""goth," or "emo" so if you are sensitive about that then maybe think twice?

They don't look Punk if they're applied in moderation, to the second poster. If they're applied in chunks...Then they look Punk.

I've had them before on dark brown hair and they looked good. I think I've also had them on dark auburn hair and they looked really good with that. They can go with any shade of light-dark brown or black hair, but nothing lighter than a light brown because then it just looks a little odd.

Go for it. Plus there are...if I remember, about 7 different shades of Red Lights, there's pink reds, orange reds, vibrant reds and darker or more purple reds. Your stylist will be able to suggest one for your color. If I were you I'd go with either the vibrant reds or the purple reds since your hair is dark. And remember if you don't want them to look too young, Punk or scene, just ask for them to be put in sparingly, not chunky.

I think Red Hilites on Black hair Is The prettiest. .THey really pop out over that black. But makes sure when u get them u get them sliced (even if they are small slices) otherwise they will not pop enough. Whatever u do don't get blonde u will look skunky. Also another really pretty color over black is A Deep Violet color or a redviolet . I am a Hairstylist.. gl

I like a deep purple kind of red. That is sexy. Like mulberry wine, or those really dark fat juicy cherries...damn I'm craving cherries now I used to have the hugest cherry tree. boo hoo.
