The only truly permanent hair color that changes the hair itself is henna or indigo. You could try indigo to make your hair black, and it doesn't damage the hair, but you have to be really really sure, because it's hard to reverse.

Check out the indigo section here - http://www.hennaforhair.com/

Also you can mix in a small amount of henna with the indigo to make it more a reddish black than a blue or pure black.

The only way you can do this is to color it darker. As it grows out you will have to color it again. There is NO WAY you can change your hair color to grow out a new darker color. Just wait, when you get older it might get that lovely shade of gray and you will wish for you red hair back. Someday you will like your hair color. I promise, until then put some SEMI- permanent color on it. but please remember SEMI permanent, or it will NOT wash out, it will grow out and you will have more problems! Good luck!

dyeing your hair is the easiest and best way to change your hair color. the natural color won't change but as you grow older, it will turn grey and silver.

you are blessed to have red hair and be a guy, try growing it longer or keep it real short.
